Rhythmic Renewal: Sunday Movement Meditation

Rhythmic Renewal is a free-movement meditation happening downtown on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month. Alex Moore and I created the event in September 2014 under the name “Dance Church Detroit.” Then we decided to change the name to something more inclusive that fits the unique spirit of Detroit.

At “R&R” we turn off our conversational voices and explore the language of our bodies. This is a safe space to venture inward while building a new kind of connected community that transcends boundaries. Family friendly ~ children to great-grandparents welcome. Please leave judgment at the door and help us hold a safe space for creative expression and self-development.

~ We start with an opening intention
~ Then music plays for about 75 minutes with a gradual rise and gradual fall
~ Finally we meet for a meditation and have time for personal shares

2nd and 4th Sundays
12:00 – 2:00pm
House of Bastet
1301 W Lafayette Blvd
Suite 111 (street level entrance between Suddle Creations Gallery and Lafayette Lofts)
Detroit, MI 48226

Look for a big red building west of John King Used & Rare Books and park on the street.

~ Suggested donation $5-10 ~ No one turned away for lack of funds
~ Call in all types of diversity, outer and inner
~ Come and go as you please ~ There’s no such thing as “late”
~ You don’t have to dance the whole time ~ You’re free to be however feels right, even if that means sitting or lying down
~ Help us keep this a drug-free event

Please join the Facebook group if you have not yet.
